I've never met a Mesa that didn't cook the tubes. Same for the Fender Pro Jr.

My Mark I got hot. I remember during winter band practice, I would always wait a while to load up so it could cool down. I was afraid the tubes would crack going from that hot to the freezing cold.

Yeah, but my Mesa is 20 watts and the Pro Jr is 15 watts. Comparatively, that's not a lot of power.

1 watt will generate quite a bit of heat in certain components. It doesn't take much.
