I look back, and wonder how my parents bought a house and raised 4 children mostly on my father's pay as a baker. It is a tough economy for young folks now.

My parents never owned their house but always paid rent on just my father's pay. My mom hasn't worked since before I was born and I'm the oldest of four. I could never do the same.

Yeah, our son had been on his own for several years when the crash came and had to move back in until he was 31.
