I'm certainly not winning this thread but I've had my black Strat here since '95. It was my first real guitar.

Somewhere in my house is this guitar I built from Carvin kits when they still sold set neck kits back in 1986.

Over the years it was painted all different colors... fluorescent red, silver, black, white, yellow... and then sanded back down to be all swirly like Vernon Reid's guitar. Right now I think it's raw maple. I should slap some Tru-Oil on it.

I have a Gibson ES150DC mutated archtop that I've owned since 1972... Its my main fusion/shred axe....
I'm certain there are old timers here that have had something longer than that....
Its not my OLDEST guitar just the one that I've owned the longest..besides the now unplayable ancient acoustic...

When I was born in 1966. Technically it was dad's.
When dad died in 1984 or
When I rebuilt it in 2008.

It's been in the family since it was new in 1946 but 2008 is when it came to be with me full time and in one piece.
