Let's do this thing!... Who's up for Baimun's Midwest Guitar Fest?

What's the general plan? Looks like a 4 hour drive for me, so I'll probably come up early and spend the night at a hotel. Anyone else coming in early? I think there are a few people meeting up in Chicago early, no?

I'll make a flyer with the map and such this weekend..... I've already started giving out my Cell.

I'll be in Chicago in the morning, but Friday afternoon I'll probably be setting up the stage and the gear for Saturday. If anyone happens to be in town Friday.... I'll probably go over to Snappers Bar and Grill (walking distance from the shop) and sing a couple karaoke songs. :helper:

I just turned down a Friday April 3rd paid gig to be available for you bastitches that are going to be in town that night. :helper:

Well @bsman ... after getting everything arranged for the Saturday gig, I'm not sure that I'd want to drag all my gear out to a gig and back. I'd rather set everything up on Friday and relax knowing that it's all ready to go. :baimun:

Here’s the map and address @Chicken Man @bsman @Dudeman1967 and anyone who still needs to DM me for my cell.

1905 Fieldhouse Ave, Elkhart IN. We have quite a bit of parking but may put some of our overflow at Heinnies or Snappers (600 feet in either direction). Stage will be set up inside the building and we are allowing for some tents to be set up outside the door if it tries to “spring weather” on our grills. :helper:

Sorta like a Notre Dame Tailgate… but 6 months early. :lmbo:

I'm coming in Friday. Anyone else? Looks a Holiday Inn Express and a Comfort Suites pretty close. Anyone staying at one of these? @baimun, suggestions on hotel?

I'm staying in the Holiday Inn. I should be there Friday eve.

I may not play guitar well but at least I'll have stayed in a holiday inn express.

I'm considering whether to come in Friday or Saturday. It's about 4.5 hours for me (if I want to avoid tolls and driving exclusively through the most boring, flat terrain imaginable) and that seemed like nothing a few years ago, but now... :old:

Hmm - I may actually end up taking the train! Apparently, Elkhart has an Amtrak station. It'd be about six- or seven-hour trip. It's looking like I probably will come in on Friday night, but it'd be after nine (you guys are on EDT, right?)

Hotel Elkhart downtown has a pretty cool old-timey vibe and is only a few bucks more than the Holiday Inn Express (I've stayed in bunches of those when the kids were playing soccer!) Lemme know where you all are staying - I'll make reservations depending.

Cant say anything about the rooms, but we go to the first floor bar and the rooftop lounge occasionally

Looks like they don't have free parking, so that's out for me.

Well - I went and did it. I'm going old school! My train arrives in Elkhart at 9:29 on Friday and departs 8:43 on Sunday. There weren't a lot of choices, and it ain't cheap, but maybe on the way home I can sell an electric guitar to an Amish family...

Need me to pick you up?
