Just a reminder about the Terms of Service here.

I've never read anything here that I found so disturbing that I had to put people on Ignore or send Mark a PM. That includes the time OCG lost his mind, and the nitwit who falsely accused me of being a racist. It meant nothing in the grand scheme of things.

I've been to many guitar forums and this place is the most sedate forum I've ever attended. No offense, but this is the Pill Ward of guitar forums and I get that some people like it that way. Then again I don't read every single topic posted here and had no idea that tompetty was being bullied. With that said, I don't think I'm out of line saying that there are some hyper-sensitive people around here who need to thicken their skin. I'd hate to see how they handle a real-life difference of opinion, sarcasm, dark humor, and confrontation.
It's "OGG" Dammit.

But yeah, I have gone too far a few times for which I am extremely regretful. And I do have thin skin. Guilty. But, I never set out to intentionally insult or hurt anybody, and I hate when those things happen. Trust me, however big of a dick you may think I am, I feel like a bigger dick than that.

I love this place, and pretty much all who post here (that goes double for Oscar). I am always working on being less sensitive and less reactionary. You guys being as cool as you are, have helped a ton in that regard. Thank you.

I would hate to be on anyone's ignore list, but all I can do is apologize and continue to learn from my mistakes.

Now, having said all of that...

Some of y'all motherfuckers need to chill the phuck out. :)

Did I miss another blow up?

Damn me and my doing stuff offline.
The funny thing is that everybody's worried about the in-jest stuff that's slightly insensitive. I think the dust-up here is over a particular post that was a direct insult.

I dunno what the mistaken C would stand for, but the G stands for Grumpy, doesn't it? LOL

We're all human. We all have our faults. Sometimes we're grumpy motherfuckers (just ask my wife or @devilman7128 about me). Most of the time I think I'm an interminable asshole.

But, yes...

I really like this place. It's one of the few places that I go on interwebs that still feels like a real community. I've gotten my feathers ruffled a couple of times here, and there are a couple of posters who I roll my eyes at pretty much every post they make, but like any community, it takes all kinds. If it came down to it, I suppose I'd use the ignore function, but I never have. Everyone has bad days, and as this is a place many come to vent, I expect people to blow up now and again. It sucks that in some cases, it's at somebody else's expense. These things tend to sort themselves out, or out comes the banhammer. I hope we don't lose anybody cool. :)

I don't think I can remember reporting anyone for anything (other than spam) in all of my time on guitar forums over the years. I've never read something on a guitar forum that got me so offended that I felt the need to report.

Ignore I've used only a few times, but even that is extremely rare.

I agree with the no politics/no religion rules as it keeps things civil, but I guess it blows my mind a little bit how seriously some people take stuff if folks are getting reported and ignored left and right around here. It makes me wonder if they've had to deal with any actual adversity in their lives.

To look at it another way, it just cuts down on the bullshit. Why deal with even innocuous bullshit if you don't want/have to? I'd never assume I know more or better than anyone here or take any real shots at them. When people have flown off the handle at me a few times I've started with ceasing direct communication with these folks and if that doesn't quell things I use ignore. Just filtering what I don't like...just as don't watch or read certain programs, movies, books, or news outlets; listen to certain music or artists; eat certain foods; etc. Every so often I shut off the filters and it's cool, but if I find that I still don't jibe with certain stuff it's off my options list.

Some of the folks I know that have dealt with the most horrible things let everything roll off their backs, while others tune out all the shit that bothers them, no matter how small. Everyone's got different processes and as long as they aren't affecting anyone else negatively, they're all good.

Be honest, it's me isn't it?:(

Were you home schooled?

I could never get over the Thunder Dome being a huge playground toy.

If you disobey the rules of thunder dome is this where you end up?

I think the movie must have gotten the idea from the playground toy. I played on one of those in elementary school, and I was in high school when that movie came out.

Part of why I left HC, in addition to the HORRIBLE "upgrades", was based on the perpetual biting tones of several of the regulars. Others I didn't care about, but the ignore list was so long I realized that it was not the place for me. In coming here, I found no reason to use the ignore list...until I did. Now, I have seven or eight folks on that list. It's more than I'd like, but it keeps my ire/need to respond in check. The handy "Show Ignored Content" link to the right above the response box allows to read this stuff if I want, and I do so knowing that I'm bringing potential pissed-offed-ness upon myself. So when I do show this content, I never respond to it.

I'm not particularly happy about this, but it makes my use of this awesome set of boards far more enjoyable. So, if it's the same people complaining about the same other people...take advantage of the Ignore List. It's quick, easy, and effective. Instead of ranting like Sara Evans about the inappropriateness of a sitcom (that she could have easily turned off), be proactive and help yourself enjoy the MWGL forums without getting too upset. Similarly, if you find yourself being an antagonist, take moment to think about what you're posting. We're all just trying to maintain a nice online community...right?

Am I on your ignore list?

will someone PLEASE tell me W.T.F. is going on??

i'm pretty sure that mark didn't create this thread as some kind of joke.......although that's what it has turned in to, which is better than a lock.
