Jeff Beck

Would it be fair to say that there may be only ONE JB record to avoid, that being Flash?

there are NO bad Jeff Beck albums. He really reinvents himself so Blow By Blow is miles and miles apart from You Had it Coming, but both are BAD ASS

Am I the only one here who really likes Who Else?

I really like that album. It's what really got me into Beck in the first place. But You Had It Coming has that killer version of "Rollin' & Tumblin'" and I think it's the maturation of that sound. Even Jeff, which completes the trilogy, is killer. But I felt like picking one, and You Had It Coming was it.

No mention of Guitar Shop to this point? This was the album that got him back on the spotlight, trying to rebuild his focus on music and make up for Flash which was generally thought poorly of. Some great stuff and the best documentation to that point of his highly evolved/refined vibrato bar technique, which went onto inspire Scott Henderson and Vai to do some new stuff as well.

So, let me suggest Guitar Shop as a great album of Jeff's music. It's got a nice mix of styles and just stellar playing all around.
