Kick Henry Jackassowski
A Bass VI with humbuckers is rather attractive IMHO.

The guitar is professionally set up with a set of strings for B to B Tuning (B-E-A-D-F♯-B) using D'Addario EXL157 Nickel Wound Electric Guitar Strings, Baritone Medium, 14-68. You may go back to Bass VI E to E tuning by using a set of strings 24-84 guage.

Product description:
This is the limited edition Jackson Custom shop Jackson Doom Soloists, masterbuilt by Mike Shannon. The idea behind these originally was born from the Fender Bass VI. The Bass VI would be a perfect starting point for more than likely the heaviest sounding guitar ever created, and that was the point of these Custom Shop Jacksons. The main features of these start with a 30 inch scale neck, never before done on a Jackson.

Kind of makes me laugh when "Doom" is associated with how black a guitar can be. Make it natural or white and I am game.

so the nut is cut for 24-84 but it is strung with 14-68?

I'd rather just have a bass vi but this one would look cool next to my Charvel M2

It’s not as insane as it sounds. 14’s on a 30" neck in B is going to have some intense tension. So the current owner is probably playing jazz or rhythm and never bends.

Actually,
This is probably one of Jackson's more intriguing ideas.
If they marketed it well, they could have a leg up on the competition.

That isn't going to happen if they go CS only though.
MIM at $799. This would rock.

I am looking for one of those sweatharts to play some ballads on the graveyard.
If someone is selling or knows any of the owners I would appreciate the contacts.

Given the necrobumpage in the previous post, I figured I'd chime in.

The 14-68 set is unbalanced, and not in a good way. The best baritone strings I've played for the 30" scale are Ernie Ball's 13-72 set.

So it's basically a short-scale 6-string bass, at 30" scale length

And @Modern Saint you can only play stuff like Candlemass, Swallow The Sun, The Sword, November's Doom, etc. on it :embarrassed:
