I've got a mania to the point of pitching a fever to find a MIM Strat for like $300 - $400 on Craigs

Most people put them for sale here in Nova Scotia for $600-$700, sometimes for $500+ and very rarely now for $400 or less.

It is common to see them advertised for $700 -$900 but I don't think people actually sell them at those prices.
 
Save your time and money. The honeymoon period will be brief and not very fulfilling.

What’s the scoop on the purple schecter?

then you don't need a cheapie fender that you won't love but will drop a few hundo into with some oddly named aftermarket pickups. now find a reason to hate that purple beauty and gimme gimme gimme
 
In the Olden Times (maybe on Harmony Central?) everyone used to claim you could pick them up for $350 "all day long", although you plainly couldn't. And while I appreciate knowing you can't pick them up for $300 anymore, I yearn to be reassured that this is still a 24/7 condition.

(I had an Affinity Squier strat that was very inexpensive, but it also arguably sounded that way and then it went off on loan and hasn't come back.)
