It's Funny in a tragic, this our future kind of sense.

Weighing half a ton, isn't he the kind of guy that could just kind of absorb bullets into his flab, all the while crushing enemy combatants and armoured vehicles under his massive weight? He could be a mighty and corpulent war machine, and an incredible asset to the US army.

:)

Mythbusters did that. Not going to happen.

Does that qualify him for a Purple Heart? He'd be badass turning up on his first day, already having been awarded a Purple Heart.

Well, I don't know. This may have been his turning point moment.

He took a bullet without crying. His dad was just telling me that when the doctor had him pull his pants down so they could see the entry wound and assess the damage, there were actually powder burns in the boys underpants, and yet those underpants were still clean. That's actually kind of saying something.

He said he's even gotten some street cred at school for "having been shot". So maybe he will get some confidence from this and really turn himself around.

he might not make it into the Marines, but he's a prime candidate for the National Guard. nobody's attacking our shores with the threat of being eaten alive by him.

Yeaaaahhhh...You might want to do a little research before you go putting your foot in your mouth again.

Rule #1. The gun is ALWAYS loaded. Even if you are sure it's not.

Rule#2. Don't point it at anything you dont want dead.

That will get you far right there.

lighten up francis, it was a joke.

Here's the thing Howie: I'm guilty of getting a little defensive about my guys when they're over there doing things you can only simulate on your PS3WiiXbox. Your joke about a lower standard for the Guard is in poor taste, especially coming from a guy who has done...what? Your clumsy attempt at condescension is a poor cover for what just came out of your dick-garage.

Well, then, Rule number 0: If you are a parent and have guns, you better take responsibility for teaching the kid what they are about, how to shoot, how to break them down, how to clean them, and how to ALWAYS respect them...

I don't have to be obese and dumb to be confused about being in the American military. Maybe it was watching that fun comedy "Hogan's Heroes" that made war too confusing for me, not the fact that North American military can be killing civilians in other countries without calling it a war, just helping out their democracy, those poor, democratically deprived foreigners of far more ancient history. Here in Canada most people were happy and proud of the "French", Quebec based politicians who said no to sending soldiers for the attack on Iraq, only to see soldiers sent to Afghanistan so American soldiers there could be redirected to Iraq. Now there's Canadian blood in that oil. But that's a minor betrayal, considering these "French" politicians use the threat of Quebec separation from Canada as a reason to favour that province above all others. The fact "The Sponsorship Scandal", untendered and over-priced contracts with kickbacks for Quebec Liberals brought that party down, didn't bring the soldiers back home.

as always, John Watt
