Dig it! It's a Major Award!

I’ve only gotten to the stage where I can plug headphones in.
Still very impressive.

I was “this close” to pulling the trigger on some bigger better studio monitors yesterday, but I decided to try out my current set of M-Audios.
Something’s up with my interface or I just don’t know what I’m doing.

I was also this close to pulling the trigger on the Revv 2x12 cab. I talked myself out of it. For now.

I’ve settled on a pair of Headrush FRFRs, but I haven’t ordered them yet.

Do you have an interface for recording on a computer? Possible to hook it up to that?

I do. An iRig Pro Duo.

I tried to use it stand-alone and just use the Direct monitor function to output it from the headphone jack to my monitors. I didn’t really spect it to work, but I had everything here. So, what the hell.
The interface doesn’t seem to even power up. I have an ac adapter for it.

It worked fine in the past when connected via USB to my computer.

Even if I get that going, the only output that I can accommodate is headphones, even with the interface.
The iRig has 1/4” outs as well, but I don’t have cables handy that will then be able to go to say, the RCA inputs on my M-Audio monitors.
I’ve ordered cables to give that a go.

I’m going to re-jig everything today and get it on my desk so I can try the interface right into the computer.

That raises a question. I’ll admit up front that I haven’t done a lot of digging yet.
I can’t seem to select a different audio device for output in Studio One or Reaper.
It seems that whatever I choose as the input device is the only option allowed for output.
That seems ‘not right’ to me.

As much of a tech head that I am, I have never wrapped my head around audio stuff beyond basic hookups.
I’m going to learn a lot or I’m going to curse a lot. Maybe both.

Good luck. Friend or bandmate with a PA?

How do they sell monitors that only take RCA? That's bizarre.

I ended up running headphone out of the two-notes module right into the monitors.

It was enough to make some noise and have some fun, but I can tell it can be much better.

The two-notes cabsim feature is nuts. Endless tweaking. So much fun. I fear it will be my downfall. LOL.

I’m with you there. I’ve spent 20+ as a systems engineer and never been able to get a computer recording rig up and running.

Yeah, that’s what’s causing all of the consternation.
If I go with FRFR, I get a few 4x12s, some 2x12s, some 1x12s, and, and, and… endless options.

I even tried out the REVV cabsims and they’re great, but I’d have a hard time picking just one.

I’m hoping the Headrush speakers will be enough of a “fill the room” experience.

I keep thinking about the guys that do the Wednesday night live streams and they do it all with in-ear monitors.
Amp to interface to IEMs. Nothing else for in the room sounds. The cabs behind them are empty.

….and I just talked myself out of a speaker cab. LOL!

Unpacking this thing was a lot of fun.

They included some swag as well. I had asked to buy some, but I think they just threw some in. YMMV

A toque, the accessories kit, and a couple of t-shirts.

The accessories box includes the foot switch that is pretty damned capable. Almost every switch allows for multiple stomps for different settings.

and a pack of gummies.

There was a sticker and some cards with setup tips to get some initial tones for each channel.

I bet. I have a Mesa TA-15 2 channels 5 settings total...I spent hours with them...nowadays each channel has a setting that hasn't changed in months...maybe years

One of these days I’ll have to try one of those cab sim things. I can’t wrap my head around how you can make a single speaker sound like a 4x12 cab. I can see it from a recording perspective, but I can’t see how sitting in front of a single speaker can sound like sitting in front of a 4x12. I definitely can’t feel like standing in front of a 4x12
