Newsflash! Introducing a very good boy... meet Rufus Barkley!!!

As much as I love young kittens, I won't adopt one if I don't have to. They are too much of a commitment and basically I'm too old for that shit. My youngest cat I adopted when he was about 11 months old. He was calming down by then, and a close friend had to find a new home for him. I already knew the cat, so it was a good fit.
 
I don't have personal experience with it, but I have multiple dog-person friends who are WAAAY into rescuing senior dogs. If you don't want to spend massive amounts of time walking/playing fetch, or dealing with puppy shenanigans, etc, they can be awesome - just happy to have a nice comfy couch and a buddy to snuggle up with (obvious trade-off is fewer years with them, but if you can handle that it's doing a great thing for some awesome dogs that are often harder to get adopted/rescued)

Yeah I am thinking an older or senior dog would be a better fit if I decide to give it another shot in the future. I know there are plenty that need help and I think that mihht better match up with my situation.
