GPOTD Interim GPOTD 8.16.18 (Hometown Edition)

Deep Eddy

Argle Bargle or Foofaraw?
From my hometown of St. Louis, MO. (both K-Line and the store, Killer Vintage)

2017 K-Line T-Byrd

7 lbs. 13 oz.

This guitar is pure genius. Ever want the classic styling and bridge pickup of a Tele, the 5 way tonal variation of a Strat, with the raised middle and the mini humbucker growl of a Firebird? This is it! The best Gib/Fen hybrid style guitar ever...simple volume and tone controls with a cool trick (the tone pot push/pulls to blend in the neck pickup with any combination of pickups you already have.

In Classic 'burst with pearloid 'guard... doesn't get much cooler than this.

With case.

Now that you mention it, no. I’m not saying it’s a bad idea. But I doubt many guitarists have been facing a fly-in gig and wished that they had the budget to bring a Tele, a Strat, and a Firebird along.

I used to work everyday with guitarists who needed to achieve just that. The session scene in NYC was such that those guys had to travel light and be versatile. So, they needed one guitar that could do a lot and something about briefcase size for their effects. It's not like Nashville or L.A. where you had cartage guys moving your amps and guitar "coffins" from one gig to another. These guys had to go from their walk up, get a cab, share the elevator, and get into the studio. So, gig bag, pedal case and maybe an acoustic if that was called for and off you go. I saw a lot of Frankenstein guitars back then that those guys had put together.

As for this thing, I think it's pretty cool as FrankenTeles go.

I like everything about it except the middle pickup, fake aged hardware, fake Firebird raised middle section, push-pull pot, fake finish scratches, pickguard, and 21 frets.

Shit... that doesn't leave much, does it?
