I stopped watching videos like these years ago. Why? Because while they're technically proficient, they have absolutely zero character or personality in their playing - which is what made Yngwie so great. He had that in spades. Now some may not like that personality, but nobody can argue that he doesn't have his very own style.
These asian kids though (like most modern Metal players) have absolutely no identity. They're just good at what they do and are just...forgettable.
Malcolm Young was a limited player but he had one thing he was fucking great at, and no other player on the planet sounded like him.
Be like Malcolm. Find the thing you're great at that no one else does.
I think you guys are missing the point.
Wouldn't it be nice to have the ability to play like Yngwie, even if you had no desire to actually do so?
HIZAKI! ♥
Wait, what?
....and that's fine for classical, where 99% of the players are merely copying someone else's arrangement. Few care about the spin you'd put on most classical pieces.
Had a feeling you'd do that...
Hey! It’s not my fault that you don’t know what you’re talking about here!
People probably said the same thing about Eddie and Yngwie when they were kids copying Hendrix note for note.
Better than listening to Yngwie? ^^
More tolerable than Bill Frisell, anywaysWeather Channel with distortion? Yes, more tolerable than Yngwie. More tolerable than silence? No.
More tolerable than Bill Frisell, anyways![]()
Dear [Korean girl].....
Oh man, that's a really old one! Remind me: what was the story behind that 'Dear [Korean girl' GJ meme? I wanna say it was something to do with that guy who fancied himself a classical musical composer. I can't remember his moniker. Dude with little round glasses.
