a good kind of terrible
Is there anything you guys do to liven either up a bit? Im sure there's lots of ways to fix grilled cheese and incorperate other ingredients, but im drawing a blank, got any recipes? ???

I like fresh spinach and hot sauce in ramen.

Add a slice of ham or turkey to your grilled cheese. Or bacon.

What cheeses are you using? Change up the cheese, bread (I like Oatnut bread), throw some garlic powder in there, maybe some cayenne. Just get into your spice rack and try different stuff and see what you like. :embarrassed:

AFA ramen noodles that stuff is so bad for you. Just buy some spaghetti and eat that instead.

Bacon or ham in a grilled cheese is dyn-o-mite. Or make what Denny's calls a "Super Bird" it's a grilled cheese with turkey and bacon.

Hot sauce, or a little worstershire is also a good option

add sauce to grilled cheese, and get pizza bread. also, never eat american cheese. that stuff will kill you.

ramen noodles are ok. it's the flavor packet that is bad for you. instead, mix it with some fresh cole slaw. it's good.

eggs are another good inexpensive food.

The garlic sounds like a good idea, i use meats sometimes. Im using colby jack mostly for the cheese. Spinach/hot sauce on ramen sounds like it would be interesting.....

The hot sauce suggestions all sound good, gonna have to get some at the store. Worstershire and Tobasco....any others? I keep hearing about Sriracha (sp?) sauce.......is it any good? Do they sell it at grocery stores?

I have sliced up kielbasa in Ramen before and that is tasty. Add in some broccoli and carrots and that is a nice meal.

I use a little pizza sauce and some turkey pepperoni to make pizza bread instead of just plain old grilled cheese. Grilled cheese is awesome with tomato soup as well.

We just made this last night, it's simple, quick and delicious:

Ingredients

8 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced
10 to 12 basil leaves, torn
4 slices french bread
Pinch salt
Pinch cracked black pepper
2 to 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Preparation

Preheat a grill over medium-high heat.

Assemble the sandwiches by arranging some sliced mozzarella and basil, sprinkled with salt and pepper, between 2 slices of bread. Repeat for the remaining 2 slices of bread. Brush both sides of the sandwiches with olive oil. Put on hot grill and cook until the cheese is evenly melted, about 1 to 2 minutes on each side. Transfer to serving plates and serve hot.

Grill cheese sammiches can be augmented with sliced tomato, bell peppers, hot peppers, mushrooms, or a little bit of guacamole or avocado.

Sriracha is excellent stuff. WE have it here at the Kroger and in the Wal-mart.

Look in the oriental foods section. With the sauces. Look for a clear plastic bottle with a green cap, the bottle has a rooster on it. THe clear plastic looks red because it is chock full of pureed peppers and vinegar and garlic. Yummy, stuff.

Gonna keep eye an out for it. Sounds like it would go great on some steakums.

Sriracha would be great for ramen noodles. Some regular grociery stores do carry it. Our local SuperWalmart even has it.

I think some El Yukateco would be good on grilled cheese sandwiches too. Sriracha probably not so much.

Basically, anything you think tastes good on a pizza is probably going to taste good on a grilled cheese sandwich. :embarrassed:
