Sometimes, they are given away free as advertising at events, so one could also just be cheap and not want to pay for a key ring. I had one for a while, and rarely used it, unless I was at someone else's party and someone needed a capper and my keys were in my pocket. Having the opener on my keys aways reminded me that I was driving home in a couple hours so be good, or ask my wife to drive. Which I hate to do.
I also thought about the wrong impression aspect, so retired it.
