Achtung! If you are having problems with logging in using the Chrome browser...

@dodgechargerfan

is there a reason why i keep getting logged out?
i click the box for "stay logged in", but it keeps logging me out.
i've cleared my browser history a half dozen times.
don't understand.
any ideas??

Two things come to mind.

Do you block cookies? Or have any kind of privacy add-on for Chrome?

OR (more likely)

If you’re using a bookmark to get here, try updating it to include https instead of http.
I’ve had this issue myself and it has to do with cookies again. The cookie is for the https version. However, if you just type in www.markweinguitarlessons.com/forums/forums or your bookmark is just the http version, the cookie bit that keeps you logged in doesn’t match.

I’ve poked at the issue a few times and haven’t figured it out other than to just make sure I’m using https when I come back here.

my laptop at work logs in fine and stays logged in, and i emailed that link to my home laptop, but it keeps logging me out. it was working fine until about a month ago. no clue.
how do i set my laptop to https?

Just make the address at the top of your browser starts with https.

If it still does it, try clearing the cookie - you can blast all of your cookies or just the specific cookie(s) for the site.
If you do have more than one for the site, that can be part of the problem too.

Edit.

OMG it took me forever to be able to sign back in here - I think it was that my password was via muscle memory and I was able to sign in using a different computer than I normally use and it freaking worked. What did I miss?

Lots and lots of stuff.

Hi all - I've returned from, gosh, nowhere specific. I lost the password for this but I managed to boot my old-old-old computer which had the password cached in a browser and I'm here. Now happily on the new-new-new computer. What's new?
Stuff happened. Things happened. More stuff happened, etc, etc, etc. And, here we are….
