Hot or Not? Ibanez Bob Weir

You know I'm a big Dead fan, but this doesn't excite me, though I liked the second one more than the first.

But then too, the only signature guitar I want is the Luna Gary Blanchard signature model.

Am I the only person who likes big heavy guitars?

I know I don't.

I find them uncomfortable with bad balance and bad ergonomics. And while there are plenty of exceptions, I tend to find heavier guitars far less resonant than similar lighter ones. Even my '70's LP is a relatively light 9 lbs.

My average gig is 3 sets that range from 60 to 90 minutes. A couple of extra pounds on my shoulder makes for a very long night. One of many reasons why I play my 6.5 lb McFeely rather than my 9.6 lb Les Paul most of the time.

I agree on the resonance thing too.

Always loved the Bob Weir model. Almost bought one more than once.

BUT....they weigh a ton, a product of the "heavier guitars sustain better" mentality of the '70's...solid hard northern Ash.

All the above. Just like the Peavey T-60. The weight issue is less of a factor, now. My balance is so bad after the back surgeries that I need to play sitting down at this point.
