Chip made a new body out of fir 2 by 4's. He contoured it so it is much thinner in cross section, and it is much thinner on the upper bout. The whole thing is clad in sapele veneer, and he put on a binding. I do not know what it is made of, but it has an aged appearance. The outline of the body is exactly that of a traditional T-60. Chip made a really small (1/4 or less) replica of a Les Paul (A Least Paul?) that looked like it had mother of pearl inlay, various other details, that were made of the most unlikely commonplace materials, so god knows what the binding is made of. It does not matter to me, and if Chip didn't enjoy bragging about the non-traditional non-tonewood odds and ends he made guitars out of, I would just as soon not know. His guitars were sometimes sloppy when you looked close, but they felt and sounded great. I particularly recall a shortish scale twelve string electric that was a joy to play.
