Only 3 threads with activity since yesterday...about 8 or 9 active since friday...mike and dougy were the only recent posters...

I agree, although if it were functional I don't think anyone woud care. Its also very similar to how the new vBulletin is shaping up too: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/

When it comes upgrade time here we will probably end up with this (but with a custom skin) http://xenforo.com/community/

it works WAY better than vBulletin or anything else I've seen but its so new that I'm waiting for it mature and gain more of the features that we use here. They just got done surviving a lawsuit from the vBulletin parent company (Internet Brands) so development slowed to a crawl last year but it looks like its picking up again. And the best part is that the company is just the two lead developers who made the original versions of vBulletin that were good. They left before (or shortly after) version 4 (this version) was being made.
 
Looks like a ghost town over there. Seems even worse than before the restricted access thing. I guess they are going to succeed in killing off HC.

the real answer will be on Tuesday when folks from the US go back to work.
 
It looks like they gave the nerd the keys to the forum and doing everything in his power to screw it up. They are basically like professional wrestling now. Let's cater to the kiddies for some reason. Why didn't they just start over?

They are starting over...first they have to drive off all the unwanted posters by strategic alienation to make room for all the new members...next they'll start sanitizing the forums, removing all the objectionable threads...then they'll start new member drives using their inflated statistics to make themselves look better in areas that attract younger people...

Nerds are pretty smart...

i think you've hit the nail on the head.

they want all the old members gone to eliminate the foolishness and return the forums to on-topicness.
