I know you hate it but THIS IS THE WEIN NFL THREAD...'25-'26

Around 5:embarrassed:0 yesterday, I got desperate and put on the Lions Bengals game, since Lions are at least in the NFC North. Lots of combine and field fires here. Around 5:30 I put on the local or, as local as it gets for me, news from Champaign IL.

Commercial... I switch back to the game... WTF? Now it's the Chargers Commanders.

Guess I'm not the only one unhappy about it.

Wow,
Eagles
Bills
Chiefs

All three lost this week
Who had the worst weekend?

A) The Raiders

B) The Chargers

C) Mark 'I deserved that Swiss Army knife in the gut from the 68 year old I made fear for his life for no reason whatsoever' Sanchez.

I think Da Bears or the Raiders should snag Russell Wilson from the Giants bench and turn their team around.
You let him run the show for 5 or 6 games to show you how it's not done. Pay him like a top 5 quarterback. There may be some setbacks. He may have a good game or 2, and people will think, "damn, Russ is back". This will pass. Then you tell him to not let the door hit that giant sack of money you gave him on the way out. And boom!

Pittsburgh, 1st place.
Denver, tied for 2nd
Seattle, tied for 2nd
New York, undefeated since benching Wilson.

This Broncos vs. Jets game sucks big time.

Will be worth it, if only for the laughs, if they just run out the rest of the clock and the Jets somehow pick up their first win, though.

It was an ugly game. Yet, my Broncos pulled out a win, thanks to their defense.

The Broncos have a great defense. However, the offense needs work. They need to work longer passes to open up the run game. When the defense figures out that the quarterback is going to stick with quick, short passes, the defense plays in tight, and they can easily stop the run.

I assume Sean Payton is going to work with Bo Nix on a plan for longer passes next week, to exploit the New York Giants weak secondary. The Broncos defense are going to be challenged by the scrambling and running ability of Jaxson Dart.

Interesting stat: Jets had the fewest passing yards in a game since 1998 (-10 yards). And still they almost won. I would've went for the 62 yard field goal with this offense.

That’s a testament to the Broncos defense. They had great pressure, sacking Justin Fields 9 times.

Of course, the Jets played a good defensive game, including a turnover. They had good pressure, keeping Bo Nix to short passes and they stopped the run well. The Jets defense had Bo Nix figured out, yet Nix was just good enough to get past them overall.

Defensive struggles make for boring games. We’ll take the win, ugly as it was.

Now I just have to hope for Miami to upset the Chargers.

Edit: Miami just took the one-point lead. 46 seconds left.

Edit 2: Miami blew it.

The rest of the AFC West this week facing last place scrub teams.

Chiefs have to play the Lions. And their LT just got called away on a family emergency at the last minute.
