I know you hate it but THIS IS THE WEIN NFL THREAD...'25-'26

I'm fine. Getting ready for the 49ers game tonight. I know that Bears fans have much, much, much, much more experience losing and sucking, so perhaps there is much I can learn from you, Ojisan.
See, the Bears are playing with house money this season. Playing .500 ball was a wild goal at the beginning of the season given how bad things have been recently. Arrow is pointing up and the team won the division. The coaching problem and the QB problem might be solved? That’s a big win! Winning a playoff game would be double extra super wild.

The Pack was clearly all in this year. And the fans up beyond the cheddar curtain seem to be unhappy with Matty Flower. The Packers defense is clearly south of awesome in terms of necessary game-winning outcomes—Parsons or no Parsons. I mean, even before the injuries the Packers seem not as good as the Rams or the Seahawks—who are probably the two most complete/scariest teams in the NFC this season.

Packers fans are a hateable bunch so it’s hard to feel bad for them when they remain both so close and so far away. I mean, generally I can see rooting for teams that are always soooo close but can’t get over the hump from just a general sports ball perspective (e.g. Allen and the Bills, Lamar and the Ravens, even Riverboat Dan Campbell and the Lions). But it’s hard to like a team with entitled mouthy fans with very little to show for it. The Green Bay Packers are like the Dallas Cowboys with cheese.

You can still participate. For years I adopted a team in January. If the Bears go down early, I'll probably go with the Rams.

Eagles and Bills. BAD PLAY CALL by the Bills to go for two and the win at the end. They should have tied it up and won in OT. The Bills D was killing the Eagles in the 2nd half and they would continued that in OT. Dam...I am sad

It’s easy to say that in hindsight. They went for the win instead of the tie.

Bills had a man wide open for the 2 point conversion. Josh Allen threw a really bad pass. Blame it on the rain.

Eagles offense was awful in the second half but boy did their defense show up. Refs let bills get away with multiple pi’s. A ugly win for the Eagles but you know what they say. A win is a win.

Two things: first, packers aren’t eliminated, just the wild card, and second, I lived in Santa Clara for 35 years - the last 12 years a half mile from Levi’s Stadium, so I I’ll always default to them when the Packers aren’t doing it.

Honestly. It wasn't hindsight for me. I thought it was a bad call even before they hiked the ball. Now if they had scored I'd be singing a different tune...

And Bears fans are like the Eagles without all the class of Eagles fans…

It seems like an all out gamble to me. I was looking forward to an overtime.

All joking aside, I'd like to go on record that I don't hate all the Packers fans. I'm even related to some by marriage. I'm fine with people who live in Wisconsin rooting for their team. I'm fine with people who are from Wisconsin but, now live in Illinois rooting for them. If your grew up in Illinois and are a Packers fan, you are a douche.

Illinois-area Packer fans with no roots in Wisconsin are just bandwagoning dinguses and should be shunned. And Packers fans in general tend to yap a lot because they’re very proud of dominating what has been one of the weakest divisions in football for years as if Bears and Lions and Vikings fans aren’t super aware that the call has been coming from inside of their respective houses for decades.

I mean, this meme is a thing for a reason…

The Bears haven’t been consistently good since the Lovie years. I have t-shirts older than the Lions’ credibility as a reasonable football team. And the Vikings are good when they’re supposed to be bad and bad when they’re supposed to be good so who can even tell.

The Packers, one could argue, under achieved over the last 10-15 years in that Rodgers was playing incredibly good ball and still only won a single Super Bowl almost a decade and a half ago when Lovie was still coach. Since that win the Packers have been to the NFC championship game a few times and lost every time. Love seems to be a good not great QB on a team that can’t seem to get a balanced, durable all three phases roster working as expected. It seems like the perennial Packers strategy of simply out scoring the offensively inept cream puffs in the division and then seeing what happens in the playoffs might not work going forward.

As a Bears fan, I get why it’s fun to dunk on the Bears. But it seems like Packers fans are doing it as cope vs. doing it because they’re having a blast rolling it up the hill for eternity.

The Rams started to come back in the 2nd half, but ended up short. They lost 24 -27 to the Falcons.

Some teams, like the Rams, seem to be imploding at the wrong time. Meanwhile, the Texans seem to be surging just in time. The playoffs should be interesting.

You can't spot a team 3 touchdowns and expext to win. The Rams still have a shot. Hopefully Davante Adams is good to go for the playoffs.

This is a weird year. No clear cut team. I'm interested to see how your Broncos do in the post season.

Anyone else get the Hurdy Gurdy earworm when the Niners play?

Tis then when the Hurdy Gurdy Purdy man
Came slinging balls of love.

I need an effect that makes me sound like this all the time.
