I Have a Question for Suhnton

matou

無帽の猫
Or anyone who can speak Japanese:

I watch a lot of anime, and I keep hearin' what sounds to me like "wadi-wadi". I know that the subs aren't literal translations, but I can't even get a clue from them.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. It's become a real distraction.

Can you give an example of a movie you've seen? And in what situation is it being used? I'm just trying to think what it could be, but nothing comes to mind.

Possibly "ware-ware"? Basically "we" when speaking on behalf of a group.

(from memory anyway)

(my memory sucks :embarrassed:)

That's how I interpret the meaning as well, as in;
われわれ人間は自然を滅ぼしてしまいました。

Uhh... yeah, that. :embarrassed:

(can't really read anymore, and barely remember how to say anything at all :facepalm:)

I studied for the Japanese Proficiency Test and passed Level 1 about 3 years ago (surrounded by Chinese and Koreans - I'm half Asian myself, but it still seemed a bit weird). Since then I haven't done much except read books, so I've forgotten a lot of kanji. Actually I think the worst thing for my Japanese has been hanging out on English-speaking forums (enjoyable as the company may be...)

I'm half Japanese, raised by my Japanese mother, learned when I was younger, studied it again in university, have been to Japan several times, etc.... :facepalm:

Problem for me I guess is that even if I learn it, I just never really use it. :shrug:

You don't know how I envy you. One of the series I'm currently watchin' is over five weeks behind on the subs.
