I don't care if you don't like cargo shorts . . .

I never used to wear shorts until I moved south of the Mason-Dixon, then it became a necessity.

My wife and I were going to a cookout recently, and she started giving me shit about my cargo shorts. "You look like a dork," she said. "No," I replied, "I look like a guy who doesn't give a fuck about other people's opinions of his wardrobe."
 
I'm just gonna put this out there....
Since when did cargo shorts become unfashionable?
As far as I know they have been in fashion since when I imagine they were invented....the 90's....suddenly they aren't cool anymore? And who the fuck decided what is and isn't cool to wear??

as a nature photographer.....lens filters, extra batteries, lens cloths, plastic bag to put the camera in if it starts raining. bug spray,.....all kinds of stuff.

and clearly, you don't golf. tees, extra couple balls, ball mark repair tool......i'm not fishing around in the bag for that stuff, as much as i use them.
 
Too much stuff in cargo pockets bangs against your legs and knees and gets heavy and annoying. I wear medium length Columbia Rock style shorts. Still plenty of pockets.

I wear shorts that look exactly like cargo shorts, except without the big pockets on the thighs. :embarrassed: I guess never liked them in the first place.
 
And now for something completely different: At a number of different youth soccer tournaments this summer, I've been noticing a LOT of high school-aged girls wearing shorts like these:

But the pockets are the whole POINT! My favorites are the old style military BDUs with the big bellows pockets, you can fit all KINDS of shit in those. The best thing about cargo pants/shorts is that if you're holding something but need to start holding something else, you can put the first thing in a pocket and carry it around with you instead of putting it down and forgetting where you left it.
