Can't afford the real thing right now, but I sold a bunch of pickups over the last week so I thought I'd do something nice for myself.
 
I dunno - I keep hearing raves about HB gear, but I wonder if it isn't just the "flavor of the month" a la GFS, Dillion, Agile, etc? I guess we'll see in a few weeks!

I've always wondered if it's just availability. Like, their only other choice is either expensive or garbage.

That being said, I clicked on PK's link and I'm wondering if you get a discount on shipping if you order in bulk.
 
SX was flavor of the month for a while.

You get what you pay for, and generally a cheap bass is a cheap bass.

It may be the beer, or maybe some bitterness, but I'm still kicking myself for not jumping on those SDs you had for sale.
 
When it arrives, PLEASE let me know how it is. Last I checked there's a lefty version and my buddy's wanted a Rick bass for a super long time but obviously they're a ton of money.

There are several really good online reviews on YouTube.
 
HB's are generally good, sometimes I've gotten one that was fab. I've owned about ten over the years. After a good setup they're usually just fine.

I'm still playing Knox in Box's cabronita copy, and I still like it a lot. Of course, a telecaster is perhaps the simplest thing you can call an electric guitar, and a Rickenbacker isn't, but the moderately priced Harley Bentons seem to be typically pretty OK things.

That was one of the fabulous ones I was talking of.
 
I ended up undoing a thing. The realities of my budget forced me to cancel for the moment. I will get one of these. Now is just not the time.
