Hofner 449 project, FINALLY!!!!

Thanks, I really love it. Plays great now too. I don't want to go to nightshift now....

Realized the Framus style bridge has a smaller radius than the Höfner fretboard. I've now ordered the correct bridge although it's not a bad player as is.

I threw on an eBay Höfner rip off switch that turned out to be exactly like the one in my Ignition Club Bass. The FT pickups have the steel mesh shielding, so the modular build of the switch eliminated any excess wiring and grounding problems. This thing now sounds killer. Put in a Tree of Life Concho in the old switch hole so it matches my Krautster kit I made a few years back.

I'm so relieved right now.

Need a cigarette....

Oh wow. That is beautiful.

Well, aside from the chopped up routing on the neck pickup and screw holes from the old dog ears.... It has charm though. I may make some ebony pieces to go alongside the pickup mounts in order to hide them, but it might look worse if poorly done.
It’s still hot. I like it a lot.

Nice work!

Looks good. Congrats.

Maybe wood filler and furniture touch up pens could work to fix the holes.
