They recently built a Whataburger in my small town. My wife was all excited because she went to that burger chain as a child, growing up in Texas.
I tried it twice for burgers. The first time they served me a stale bun. The second time, the lettuce was rotten. For burger restaurants in my town, I rank them last, behind McDonald’s. I rank them behind McDonald’s for fast food breakfast as well, but their breakfast menu is open until 11am all week. McDonald’s closes the breakfast menu at 10am M-F and 10:30 Sat and Sun. So, if I’m in a hurry, or too lazy to go to a real breakfast restaurant, I’ll go through the Whataburger drive through. So far, their breakfast is ok for fast food but not great. I don’t order burgers from McDonald’s or Whataburger.

4) Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

Even for a chicken sandwich, Freddy’s uses a quality breast. Whataburger uses some crap processed thing.
There are other good burger places, south of me, in Colorado Springs. These are chains with which most are familiar like Dog Haus Biergarten, Five Guys, Smash Burger, In-N-Out Burger.
Plenty of people hate the burger chains I like. At least most of us don’t lack for options.
In their defense, my wife said the grilled cheese and sweet tea are good.
