Had food from Red Lobster last night

I know Red Lobster gets a bad rap here on the forum, and probably rightly so.

But I had been seeing their ads for their kung pao noodles with crispy shrimp, and it looked good so I decided to try it, got take-out.

Oh my! It was delicious :letseat: I would certainly order it again. I dont even care if it isn't authentic kung pao. It is just good.

It has a pretty good spicy kick to it without being burn the mouth-hot, has peanuts & cashews, and a generous portion of fried shrimp.

They also have kung pao noodles w/chicken, and kung pao noodles w/crispy lobster.

I haven’t eaten at RL in like 20 years. I used to really like them, even though it was a budget-buster for me back in the day.

I wouldn't mind trying to make this dish myself.
I'm sure there are probably recipies on pinterest for it already, that I could look up.

My sister loved Red Lobster when we were kids. We always went once a year, on her birthday. And we had to wait an hour for a table.

Serious question: Pintrest? is there any way of seeing feedback on the quality of the recipe like other dedicated recipe sites use?

I pull ideas and info from recipes online all the time but I stick to ones that have feedback from people who have tried it or a reputable author like Kenji Lopez Alt.

I went to one with Carol's family once many years ago and seem to remember having difficulty finding a vegetarian meal there. I imagine that might have changed over the years. I am not in a hurry to go back and find out.

Thankfully, I live too close to the coast to resort to Dead Lobster. :corksniffer:
We have several great seafood places nearby.

RL has gotten a bad rap in the past for pushing non sustainable fishing. Not sure if that has changed

There’s pretty much no such thing as environmentally friendly shrimp. It’s mostly farmed in Asia along former coaster mangrove swamps. Mangrove swamps are great carbon sinks, so getting rid of them is especially bad for the climate.
