My dad had a valve replacement years ago. So I know it is kinda scary, and your Mom will be really out of it after the surgery. You have to have faith, they do LOTS of those and they have a very good success rate.

She's out of surgery...Doc says it went well, required quite a bit more fitting and reconstruction than anticipated, but she handled it like a pro...that old bird is about the toughest person I know...

In about an hour we will get to see her in the CCU...

Long day...really, really fucking long day...
