Year: 2003
Manufacturer: Rick Turner
Model: Model 1 Lindsey Buckingham
Case: Original Hard
Color:
Condition: None
Ever since Lindsey Buckingham took delivery of #79-003, the Model One guitar has been highly sought after for its combination of Old World aesthetics and modern, full-bodied tonal range. Played clean, it sounds incredibly acoustic and detailed. But when the volume kicks up, it screams louder and longer than any guitar you've played... without unwanted feedback or breakup.

$3999

I know those sound awesome since Lindsey Buckingham has been using one for years and every review I have read have raved about then. But not four grand worth....

Lindsey B. made it sound great but not sure I could do anything with it. I never have been in love with the looks but have always liked his tone. I always thought it looked like something homemade. Cool but not for me.

it's made by one guy in a shop. how is it not worth $4k? and what would make it worth the asking price?

I've never been overly impressed with Lindsay's tone, and I think it's ugly as ass, so I'd pass on this one in a big way. Probably wouldn't buy it for $400.

I'm not sure you COULD make it worth $4K, to be honest....at least not to me.

TO ME, it looks like a toy. (I know it's not, but it appears as such to me.)
It has 24 frets. I don't quite understand why.
It has classical styled tuning pegs. Again, not sure why.
It has a single pickup that appears to be an afterthough to the overall design of the guitar. I'm sure it's not, but that's how it appears.
It's shaped on the Ukelele-scale.
Again, IMO, it looks like a toy.

JMHO.

For 4 grand, I could buy a hell of a custom guitar, and this would not be it.

Very interesting design and Turner supposedly builds fantastic guitars. If I had $4k I probably wouldn't drop it on that, but I'd certainly give it a try.

"Played clean, it sounds incredibly acoustic and detailed."

So, why not play it on an acoustic?

"But when the volume kicks up, it screams louder and longer than any guitar you've played... without unwanted feedback or breakup."

This guitar and the way it is described reminds me of a Parker Fly.

And I can buy a nice Fly for about half that much.

My favorite Buckingham stuff is his acoustic work, which wasn't recorded on that.
Besides, I don't like the looks of that guitar, and that's important to me.
So, no thank you.
