Guitar Old Timer
Bob Mothersbaugh (guitarist and co-founder of Devo with his older brother, singer and multi-instrumentalist Mark Mothersbaugh) is has been playing La Baye 2x4 guitars for decades.

These guitars were originally made by Holman of Neodesha, KS in 1967, for Henri's Music in Green Bay, WI (where as a young 'un I used to get my guitar gear - my hometown of Manitowoc is only 35 miles from Green Bay). Only 45 of these guitars were made (of which if IIRC, Henri's had 3 or 4 of them hanging from the wall in their guitar department - Henri's went out of business in the 90s), and if you find one for sale, it'll set you back around $2500. Eastwood, has revived the model, with some updates, at a significantly lower price.

Interesting continuation if the cigar box guitar and Bo Diddley block of wood guitar concepts...but even understanding the concept behind it doesn't make me want one...

Hmmmm. It's not elegant, it's not sexy, it's very stripped down and bare-bones utilitarian. I should dislike it much more than I do.

ETA: It's probably the P90s. In my mind, P90s automatically add like 20% to the "cool factor" of any guitar.
