Hot or Not? Godin Montreal Premiere

I dig the single cutaway on a 335-style guitar. I've long gotten past my aesthetic issues with 335's because I love the way they sound, but this one brings them closer to the surface because its exactly what I'd want in a 335-style guitar aesthetically. I don't particularly care for the rounded double cutaways. I like a single cutaway and I like it to come to a point. I don't know why, I just do.

I'll have to play one of these. If they play as well as I've Godins usually do, I'd definitely pick one up if I ever could.

i didn't realize it's a completely cherry body with a spruce bracing. that's awesome. it's also a budget version of the Sadowsky i want, without the bling. maybe even put some El Rayo pups in it. hopefully, it actually looks like this in person. anybody got a price yet?

One thing about Godins, if you look, you can find one for less than MAP.
I bought my 5th Avenue with case for $500 new. MAP on the guitar is $519 and the case is $79.

So, if this one prices at $1,399, you could probably find one for 1k.

Have to wait and see. Hell, the original Montreal is $1300 isn't it?

$1600. but it has a piezo pickup too.

But, this is the premiere version. That alone has to be worth a couple hunnerd.

Yeah, it's kind of weird as the build type isn't their norm of solid body or semi-hollow built from a routed solid slab. It's better use of wood and the skill set was partially their with the acoustics (as far as bending sides) and refined for archtop work with the 5th Avenue guitars. I like the idea of the regular Montreal more, I also really liked the Flat Five model, but it was discontinued before I could save for one and now life prevents such extravagances.

I've warmed up heavily to the natural finished model. About 20 years ago Ibanez made a thinline George Benson (GB-20) and this is very much along those lines and the Sadowsky lines that Howie mentioned.

I just sold my washburn and I'm looking for a replacement. This may be the one. I have been playing since the 60's and as I get older, only certain guitars work well for me. The Godins seem to fit like a "T". Anyway, the reason I'm answeriungf you post is I have a Core, HH model. And I love it. It has become my go to guitar. I also have a 5th Ave with the wild cherry body. Fantastic tone when run through the right amp. I'm hoping the Montreal Premier tone is just as good.

welcome!

also, to answer the troll plainly, i can't afford a Sadowsky. which is EXACTLY why i want the Godin. so how about this. you pay for me to buy a Sadowsky and i'll walk over to Queensbridge and buy one in person.
