”You Can See Everything” documentary is in select theaters. It will be a bit of a wait before it reaches streaming.
I went to see the film with my wife, son, and one of his friends. My wife was very excited to see it. I was more reluctant because it’s about 3 hours long. I think I would have preferred if it was a 6 part series rather than a 3 hour film.
I would describe it as bizarre. There were moments that made the audience chuckle. When it was over, my emotional state was a bit like, “WTF did I just witness?” I’m not sure the 4 of us would be able to agree on what happened in each scene.
There are themes about love, loyalty, dependence, manipulation, control, the perception of truth, deception, self deception, manipulation, ambiguity, control. etc.
The documentary feels a bit slow and subtle. Parts of it are nuanced, yet provocative. I found Billy to be the most interesting character.
