I've decided I want to try a different set of Dimarzio's in my Standard...I sent back the set I had and they will be sending me out a new set. After that I'm going to bring it to my local shop for install...the damn PCB board is getting taken out and I'll have them install top quality EVERYTHING with Push/pull tone knobs for coil splitting. This damn thread. Maryann for the win!!My favorite pickup selector ring
That's a classic LP setup you're getting right there. I have a Dimarzio PAF in my custom, LOVE IT.I've decided I want to try a different set of Dimarzio's in my Standard...I sent back the set I had and they will be sending me out a new set. I'm going with a Super Distortion in the bridge (yes @Chad...moar gain...lol) and a PAF 36th anniversary in the neck.
I'm not afraid to say I'm pretty excited about these pickups.
Mine read R2-D2 (bass side) and C-3PO.My favorite pickup selector ring
I plan on the Mary Ann Ginger, and Betty Wilma chip.
I saw several YouTube vids of guys demoing that setup....I can't find fault in any of them. The PAF sounded phenomenal in every situation. I really excited about getting that pickup. That's a classic LP setup you're getting right there. I have a Dimarzio PAF in my custom, LOVE IT.
Glad to hear that....some of the guys on the Duncan forum were trying to steer me toward a PAF Joe.That's a classic LP setup you're getting right there. I have a Dimarzio PAF in my custom, LOVE IT.
I hesitated on the the SD because it's a ceramic magnet and high output. I thought maybe it might be harsh. But the YouTube vids ALL sounded killer. Nice and thick with a ton of balls.A Super Distortion is what I had in my LPC. that thing rocked.
It is never a bad choice imo.
Dimarzio X2n in a Strat is another favorite.

The output on the X2N is ridiculous!! I'd love to hear what one would sound like in a my LP.I put one in a Dean Bel Aire in 1986. Guitar stills slays to this day.
