I've decided I want to try a different set of Dimarzio's in my Standard...I sent back the set I had and they will be sending me out a new set. After that I'm going to bring it to my local shop for install...the damn PCB board is getting taken out and I'll have them install top quality EVERYTHING with Push/pull tone knobs for coil splitting.
I'm going with a Super Distortion in the bridge (yes @Chad...moar gain...lol) and a PAF 36th anniversary in the neck.
I'm not afraid to say I'm pretty excited about these pickups.

That's a classic LP setup you're getting right there. I have a Dimarzio PAF in my custom, LOVE IT.

I saw several YouTube vids of guys demoing that setup....I can't find fault in any of them. The PAF sounded phenomenal in every situation. I really excited about getting that pickup.
 
A Super Distortion is what I had in my LPC. that thing rocked.

It is never a bad choice imo.
Dimarzio X2n in a Strat is another favorite.

I hesitated on the the SD because it's a ceramic magnet and high output. I thought maybe it might be harsh. But the YouTube vids ALL sounded killer. Nice and thick with a ton of balls.
