Rosewood sucks on that guitar. The black pickup ring sucks. The color on an ash body sucks too. A total MEH from me on this one.
FWIW, I have a FSR/Custom Edition mexican strat and it is an incredible player. I think these custom ordered and high end MIM guitars are WAY better than the standard MIM line up.

it's a common mod.
Some people like it that way, as it keeps the toggle out of the way, and if you flip the pots and wiring, you can do volume swells and such.
