Watched the OG White Zombie yesterday on a rainy Wednesday night.

It took me like twenty years to realize that it’s called White Zombie because the horror is a white woman being subjected to the same living death that black men get. I’m not sure if that concept is racist or anti-racist.

So on Saturday my nine year old daughter told my husband that she had seen the first few minutes of Scream on YouTube and wanted to watch the whole movie. Being the good, responsible parents that we are we sat down and watched it together as a family. The next day we were walking into a grocery store and she said to me “Daddy, what’s your favorite kill in Scream?”. So she’s either destined to become the next Elvira or a serial killer.

Started watching Firestarter with my son the other day. Jesus, I'd forgotten what an un-good adaptation of a pretty good book that is. Slow, plodding, awkward, George C. Scott in brownface, Heather Locklear. Ugh.

I watched hellions yesterday and it was complete shite,just cliche after cliche and nothing even scary because you cpuld totally see what was coming next It was a waste of time...bad acting but not in a good bad acting way like Bruce Campbell...this was just plain bad acting. If I had a thread titled shitetober this would be in that instead. the storyline , if you wanna call it that was nonexistent . It just jumped into it with no lead in. i wasted 80 minutes of my life

You should do it ! I watched it on Hulu but it's probably available other places. I would suggest plenty of alcohol and/or drugs in lieu of popcorn

I watched There's Someone in Your House last night. Straight forward teen scream. Ending was obvious pretty early on. Still good fun in most parts. Tried to take itself too seriously though.

I did not enjoy that film. I hate watching any autopsy more graphic than Quincy M.E., and The Autopsy of Jane Doe was filled to the brim with graphic autopsy. The clue is in the title.

Watched After Midnight last night. It's kinda a monster movie, kinda a thoughtful relationship drama? It's quite good.

I watched Incense for the Damned AKA Bloodsuckers today. It is incredible nonsense.

Okay, something good after yesterday's stinker. Don't Talk to Strange Men (1962). An innocent young girl is groomed over the telephone by a serial killer. The acting and direction are good, and it's a great little time capsule of early sixties rural England.

I thought it was interesting how he called Christopher Lee 'Chris Lee'. I know they were were friends, so I wonder if that's what his friends called him?

Rewatching Michael Powell's classic Peeping Tom. Damn, this is a great film. Powell was such a terrific director.

probably so as it's less formal/ My boss' brother comes around to work a lot becuase he's a bit more knowledgable of the old Land rover stuff but anyway his name is patrick but I just refer to him as pat all the time cuz I feel goofy calling a grown man a formal name like Christopher or Patrick.
