Flyers....WOW! Best hockey game I have ever seen.

...yes!...hail knocked my power out just as the 2nd period began, so it took me the entire second to drive 10 mins to my friends house...but yes...they beat the odds, and made history...

...plus, the Pens are gone...its a win/win...

I'm rooting for a Blackhawks/Flyers Cup series now, as I can't stand the Canadiens :embarrassed:

Which probably means it'll be the Sharks and Canadiens :(

Maybe not the greatest I've seen, but that was an awesome game. I've been rooting for Philly since I'm hoping for a Chicago-Philly showdown, so I was bummed when I turned it on and saw it was 3-0. I was pleasantly surprised. :thu:

Here in Canada... all these francophonies... Mont Royale, Montreal, it hurts to hear...
It's even news in Toronto that Leafs fans aren't afraid to be rooting for Montreal in public.
There were even articles with pictures about venues with Leafs fans rooting for Montreal.
They're even saying Leafs fans would like a team in Hamilton, maybe worth cheering for.
But I can't get too down about those teams.
When my Dad came home with three hockey coins for us kids to pick one, I took Chicago.
When he bought the other teams for our table hockey game, I still picked Chicago.
At least they kept the same uniform all this time, the reason I picked that Glenn Hall coin.
Maybe I'll bicycle past Bobby and Dennis' Effingham home this weekend.
Those guys knock down trees and chase down deer for their bar-b-ques.

as always, John Watt

I seriously doubt that. The way I see it, the way to stop Montreal is put someone (like Pronger) on Cammalleri and crowd the net in front of Halak.

And I think Chicago will beat San Jose. Hockey doesn't belong in Southern California. :)

Tell that to Tampa Bay, who has a cup.........

Wait a minute,,,,,,you're in Ontario, and a FLYERS fan?

I spent the first 25 years of my life an hour and a half northeast of Philadelphia. I'm a displaced American living up here. And yes, I am taking a LOT of flack about it.

NEWS ALERT !!!!!!

San Jose isn't in SoCal:facepalm:

Come to the Shark Tank and find out how wrong you can be.

Apparently my geography has suffered.

Everyone talks about how loud that place is supposed to be but I can guarantee the atmosphere at the United Center will be way more intense.

You've never been there, yet you can guarantee something?

Here is a hint. We have TONS of immigrants from the frozen wastelands who grew up on hockey. My neighbor is one. They are as passionate about hockey as any canadian or east coaster, and they know the game.

HP Pavillion or whatever the fuck it's called holds 17,000 and change, the UC will have close to 23,000 people in there Friday night so by sheer number of screaming fans yes I can guarantee that.

It is widely acknowledged around the league by the players that the United Center is the loudest and most hostile environment in the NHL. Much in the same way as the old Chicago Stadium is pretty much regarded as the rowdiest building in the history of sports.

San Jose hockey fans are noobs compared to Chicago hockey fans. We don't sip chardonnay and eat sushi at hockey games.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

The Hockey News asked 30 players, all from different teams, to name the loudest NHL rink in which they've played a road playoff game.

Of the players polled, five (17 percent) named either the Bell Centre or the old Montreal Forum as the loudest rinks.

The arenas in Calgary and San Jose tied for second, with four votes (13 percent) each, while three players (10 per-cent) picked Chicago. New York (Madison Square Garden), Philly, Edmonton, and Dallas each received two votes (7 percent), while Colorado, Carolina, Toronto, Phoenix, Boston and St. Louis each garnered one vote (three percent).

Like I said, we have extremely vocal and experienced fans born on the east coast.

As for sushi and wine, while it is available, it isn't really the favorite meal. You must have it confused with a 9rs tailgate party.

Hah!

We make just as much noise with half as many people. Quantity does not equal quality. Do you have to take binoculars to the game?

Well first of all in order to answer correctly you'd have to have played in every building in the league. Look at the quotes from the players:

"Until you played in the old Chicago Stadium," said Dallas' Sergei Zubov, "you have no idea how loud an arena can be."

"I don't want to say it, but I'd go with Edmonton, when I was in Chicago. Chicago is still the loudest, but I guess I can't say there because that's who I played for. It was awesome." -- Bryan Marchment

Chicago: "It was 1996, when [Colorado] played there in the [1996] conference semifinal. It was incredibly loud.'' -- Adam Foote

"Chicago Stadium. The arena in Winnipeg was a close second." -- Tie Domi

Uncorrect. Part of me says the Hawks are due to lose, they've one six in a row on the road but I'll give you some hockey insider info. Typically the teams that go deepest in the playoffs are riding a hot goalie and the Hawks are certainly doing that. But if they let up 40 + shots again tonight it's not going to be good. The positive is that they only had 9 giveaways Sunday so if they can get back to playing their game (puck possession) they are a lot faster and more skilled than the Sharks so they should be able to exploit that. Also, in the NHL penalties always even out, no way tonight is going to be a 5-0 PP advantage to San Jose.

In closing, what is up with the Sharks uniforms? They dress like an Australians nightmare. This is what a real hockey uniform looks like:
