Achtung! First song I've written in a long time.

I agree with you. There are actually three layers of piano, and none of them are all that dynamic.

Yeah, rationalize the parts and play it with some touch. Right now it's got the four-armed drummer problem - hey man, that's a nice part you've written there, but I've only got ten fingers! Getting it playable in one take might also inform/take care of the velocity and sustain issues as well.

Otherwise, good sounding track. Coming to America meets November Rain.

groovy!

I wish I had your voice.

well, not your voice, per se, but the ability to sing like you do.
you know what I mean.

anyways, great stuff.

what's velocity mean, in regards to piano?

I can't play anything resembling a piano track without doing at least two passes at it. :embarrassed: Seriously, my left hand and my right hand just won't work together on a keyboard. I'm sure it's a matter of practice, since I can type pretty well, and play guitar decently. Just haven't spent enough time with the piano to get good at it at all.

I understand - I can conceptualize how a drum track fits together, but when I sit down and try to get all four limbs moving in concert .......

I suspect that Dexter is a better pianist than I am, but I'd be happy to try and lay down a midi track for you.

If you just want something to do, sure. I should be able to plug your midi into my session.

Sent from The Restaurant at the End of the Universe.

just played this for Tamara.
she asked if you were wearing spandex when you did it.
that's a compliment, afaic.

that would be SOOOO awesome if it was true

she was very impressed with the recording, though, seriously.
