Achtung! First song I've written in a long time.

I actually started this one about a month ago and just finally got some 1/2 way decent vocal tracks recorded. It's a terribly cheesy song, but what the hell...I'm good at terrible and cheesy.

All I've Got To Give

The only real instruments are two acoustic guitar tracks, a bass track, and a lead guitar. Acoustic was my Takemine. I capoed for one track and used open chords on the other. Bass was the Peavey Millennium Plus straight to the board, and electric was my Reverend Flatroc 15th anniversary into a Hughs & Kettner Statesman 50 into my 412, and mic'd with an SM57.

Wow, you have some serious talent. Excellent production.

Imagine how it would sound using an Ibanez.

Thanks. I've always really enjoyed recording. I kind of look at recording like learning and practicing an instrument.

I don't mean to be a harsh critic, but fix that piano.
No dynamics in it, quite sure you could do better. Play around with velocities a bit.
Other than that it's fabulous. :)

I need to figure out how to adjust the input velocity of both my keyboard and my e drums. Both of them trigger way too hot.

I'll fool around with the velocities the next time I fool around with it.

Recording would be a whole lot better once you figure that out. :)
I know you're like me in that regard, a good tip is very appreciated for me.
Piano just sounded a bit too stiff for me, and took a bit away from the whole picture.

I agree with you. There are actually three layers of piano, and none of them are all that dynamic.

I liked it (even the piano). I wish I could write cheesy stuff like that

it would help if I could sing too

and play other instruments

or even the guitar

I like it...sometimes cheese really hits the spot, if you know what I mean...:thu:

...I remember you posting a video of a song you wrote when you were a kid...something about crying all the way from somewhere to somewhere...also cheesy but also very well done, if I remember correctly...

That one is called All the Way to Boston. I wrote it my senior year of high school.

Oooo--modulation and everything! Cheeztastic!
Brett Michael or Tom Keiffer would pay good money for that tune.
Great production too.
