Filled up my gas tank in March

I still have a quarter of a tank! Anyone want to buy a car?
I've had my rig since 2011, september so that is a hair over 9 years. When i bought it it had about 98,000 something on it and I now have abou 146,000. So that's about 48.000 miles which equals about 5,400 miles per year but probably 4,000 of those were on tthree roadtrips to Colorado and Utah and another to California/nevada ....so i probably only put like less than 5000 per year....

TLDR : no i do not want to buy your car.

Prior to Covid I was averaging a touch over 2000 miles a month on my car. It needed a bunch of repairs and had about 260K on it so I replaced it with a Toyota Camry - specifically to get better mileage.

Since I bought it (mid March - seven months ago) I have put less than 2K on it. had I known that I would be working from home so much I either would not have traded the Honda in, or would have gotten an AWD since the mileage does not matter at this juncture.

My wife and I put 300 km on our family car so far this year, at least according to the garage that swapped our tires for winter and summer. They put the summer tires on in April, and the winters went on this week, and the odometer was 300 km different.

The weekend fun car is even worse. I am on the same tank of gas that was in it when it came out of winter storage. I have to drive it a bit more to burn off the old gas and refill it for winter storage. We are already past the time frame where that car can really be driven, as traction on cold pavement is not good. It gets 9 mpg, so that gives you an idea of how little I got to drive it.

I usually commute by tram, but I didn't even bother to renew my annual pass, as I have been physically at work for 3 hours since February.

I’m down to a tank a month since I’m no longer driving the kids to school every day. But my husband isn’t driving in to work so he’s probably saving 1,500 miles a month.

Rookies.

I usually put around 16k miles per year on my car. More if I end up driving to West Virginia or Maryland for 'stocks.

I will put less on it this year, due to being off work for 2 1/2 months for the beer virus.

I average ~900 miles a week, and that has not changed at all. Thats a tad shy of 47K/yr.

Rookie what?

I got my vehicle in Dec 2015. Right now it has around 48k miles on it. I like working close to home.

Any less usage and some of you will need some fuel stabilizer.

Yeah...my car is the replacement for the one I totaled in January. I got it in April and it has about 540 miles on it. I think I've washed it almost as many times as I've driven it this year.

All of you suck. Seriously.

I usually put 25,000 to 30,000 a year on my vehicles... my wife's car a little less. In march I put four new tires on my SUV... and in July I did the same thing for our Lexus.

Let me think... New Years... the fourth... labor day.... I think I've not come into the office during a weekday about 17 days this year including all the holidays and the 8 days (6 work days) I was "furloughed" while many of my coworkers worked from home for months.

I just heard one of my rear brakes give that tell tale "time to be replaced" grind at lunch... and we're supposed to get a new SUV before the end of the year, and I'm trying to do it before my wife's (soon to be mine) car hits 90K on the odometer. :annoyed:

I've been working from home for almost 7 years. I'm driving a little less now (don't have to pick the kids up from school anymore and no more rocking open mics with @Guitar Heel ) but I still run to the store, go to doctor's appointment and grab the occasional take out dinner. I did get my oil changed the other day, I've driven 5,000 since March. 1,400 of those were to Florida and back the second week of March right before everything got shut down.

Fueled my Acura in Mar still 1/2 a tank and it’s an 11 gal tank to boot. Mind you I am retired so no need to drive to work. Including a 1000 mile trip in September and still all our cars together have less miles this year than I have put on my bikes :thu:

I used to put 25 to 30k a year on a vehicle but since we moved back to Florida I bought a brand new Pilot December 2017 and it now has 33k on it. Much better living 5 miles from work.

My wife filled her tank on March 13 on her way home from work. Since then she drove it around the block a couple of times to take the rust off the rotors. I had to buy a new battery because it was dead beyond recharging. OTOH, I go through a 14 gallon tank at 25-30 MPG a week and I'm retired. About 30k a year is about average.
