Fender Mustang IV v2, to buy or not?

There's a Fender IV v2 on my local CL . It's a 2x12 Celestion-loaded combo, 150W and comes with a 4 button footswitch. He's asking $199, which seems more than fair. It's way more amp than I need, but seems like a good deal. The speakers and footswitch alone are probably worth half that.

My concern, other that outrageous power, is that Fender seems to have dropped support for the Fuse software that's used to do the modelling. I've seen mixed reports of how well it works with Windows 10.

Anyone have a Mustang and can shed some light on this? I'm fine if you talk me out of it.

They are solid state and modeling so 150 watt isn’t crazy, it’s not like you have to crank it to get the tones you want. I played one of the Mustang series amps at a GC a while back and I liked it better than the Katana. I’ve never owned one, so no clue how the editing software is.

The last version of Fuse was released in 2020 when most PCs were running on Windows 10. So it should be fine with that OS.

I've used a Mustang for years and really like the tweakability of the Fuse software.
I bought a new laptop running Windows 11 a few weeks ago, installed Fuse, and it's working great.

A rehearsal studio I went to a short while back had one of these and I loved it. Super fun to play and sounded pretty good!

I had the first series base Model and loved the Twin and Super-Sonic models. If it had a bigger speaker and I hadn't broken the USB connection, I would probably still use it.

So did you buy it?
I did not. Although I think it was a good deal, I really had no need for another amp, even though it may have been fun to fool around with all the modelling parameters. I figured I'd let someone else snag it rather than have it sit in my basement after a few weeks of twiddling with it. I haven't been playing my electrics much at all the last year or so. Life & work have been keeping me busy. Well, that and our bass player passed away last year and the guys I jam with have also been busy. Maybe this winter we'll get things going again.
