Hot or Not? Fender Blacktop Jaguar 90

I really need to stay out of the stores. I got bad GAS for this. I dig the 24" scale and the vintage voiced pickups.

Its basically a short scale LP Special.

With a bolt on neck.

And a Fender logo.

Gibson would be skewered for a similar turnabout on a tele (see Marauder)

Um, yeah. Hot. I think a jazzy with a trem is hotter, but this is also hot. I liked it when my son was trying out guitars in GC a few months ago.

Hot, but I wish they also offered it wit the the Jazzmaster trem, too.

BTW, Gibson was skewered for the Marauder b/c of the awful pickguard on it and ugly headstock.

It's OK, but I think I'll stick with a Jag, with Jag-style pickups.

It's definitely not a Jag in the traditional sense.

Sound was somewhere between a casino and a les paul special. Not as much growl as a special. Not as much jangle as a casino. Somewhere in between. The P90s aren't especially hot. More a vintage voice.

I never liked that scale length. It does look nice though.
