Fashion thread: Shoes

Lately I have been updating my wardrobe to a more mature look. I am ditching the graphic tees and boot cut jeans and have switched to straight leg dark denim and dressy shirts. Also I am looking to get a stylish pair of shoes that are not trendy and will be stylish for years to come.
I'm thinking about picking up a pair of these desert boots:

What do you all think?

I like, but my brave new fashion statement this year was finally buying a pair of these:

I got a pair of black Ugg oxfords a month ago, most comfortable shoes I think I have ever worn...they look stylish but not trendy.

Chucks are probably one of the most universally stylish sneaker a guy can buy. You can wear them with jeans, shorts, khakis, etc.
They work for kids, teens, and adults. I have a pair in light grey.

I wear them with a suit all of the time, despite my wife's objections.

I have four pairs of these in different colors. Great shoes. Cheap too.

I had bought a pair years ago that didn't feel very good so I figured my feet weren't right for them but my wife talked me into trying a pair again and I think I sized them correctly or something. I've even worn them on gigs...

Band t shirt, jeans, and chucks are the perfect gig attire. Throw on a fedora if you wanna spice it too.

Chucks don't match regular sizes. At least they didn't for the longest time, I haven't bought a new pair in years.

Back in the 80's, I used to wear Converse's that were half pink and blue or half green and orange. My favorite combo was having green/orange on the right foot and blue/pink on the left.

My son the comedian wore All stars EVERY DAY for five or more years. I recently gave him a pair of Born shoes that were too big for me. He ditched the All Stars, but now I've created a monster. :embarrassed:
Borns ain't cheap.

I have a pair of desert boots. TBH, they are not very comfortable, as the lace knot sits right on the bone at the top of your foot. Hurts like hell if you walk any reasonable distance.

I'd be more inclined to go for something like this:

Don't toss the existing clothes. Just widen your selection and style range.
Variety comes in handy.

I wear sandals, running shoes, boots, and occasionally topsiders and semi-dress shoes, as needed.
Shorts of all kinds, jeans, cargo pants, or docker type slacks.
Printed T's of every kind to plain T's, to polo's and dress shirts.

The desert boots aren't really my thing....when I think desert boots, I think 70s and this guy:

I dont like most "formal" shoes for guys, mostly wear

and I have some boots that I'll wear with a suit or whatever more formal thing comes along which are essentially these but high tops

I love the look of Chucks - but I MUST have a good arch support in all my shoes if at all possible. Maybe if I get a good insole I can wear those.

I am actually one of those people who hates spending any money on clothes at all. I go for cheap. Usually used or on clearance. Except for shoes. I will spend good money on a pair of dress shoes because I use them a lot and they will last me a long time. Like ten years long. I really like Ecco dress shoes...

And of course I rock these almost every day....

I love my Brooks.....

I'm like you Dave, I have to have arch support. I've got really high ones and do have some insoles that I can use with other shoes. Brooks are great...have an old pair and I need to get some ones as I wore those out.
