Fall Recordingfest - The 80's!!!

I think I can safely confirm that one of my cover entries in particular will ROCK YOUR FUCKING SOCKS OFF! :grin:
I'm even pleased with how the vocals turned out. I'm pretty close to speechless now after that vocal tracking I just did :embarrassed:

Just have to compress the snot of the vocals and add reverb and all my entries should be done :love:

As for mine...

The first one I did didn't come out really well. I really struggled with the mix and ended up just getting something that you can almost hear all the tracks. It's probably the worst mix I've done in a long, long time, but I'm so sick of the song now that I don't care. :embarrassed:

The second one came out great. It has a bunch of tracks, but it practically mixed itself. I think it sounds really, really nice, and kicks a fair amount of ass in a semi-ballady kind of way. :embarrassed:

And then there's Whitesnake. :grin:

I've had a couple of originals like that, where I've just had to scrap everything and start over.

Yeah, the Whitesnake one has been on repeat since yesterday here, dammit that thing rawks :grin: :love:

I can safely confirm that my entry will rock no ones socks off at all.

After listening to the original again I have more parts to record than I thought I did - and mixing will be a challenge to not overkill the song with layers....

I still need to mix the one I did with iwalt for the last one....hopefully I'll have time today...

Not sure how good it is, but I ran out of time to rerecord a few things so it is very, very flawed........

BUT - it's done.....
 
Never mind, it ain't getting done. It's way too much hassle for one goddamn song. Maybe next time.

For obvious reasons, I was not able to participate this time. I'm really bummed about it, too, if I ever wanted to do ANY, it was this one. :(
