Hooper! :thu:

I love that movie, its just not really a "guy" movie, is it? Lots of women like that one too.

I don't know one girl that likes it never mind loves it the way every man should.

If I ever do I'll propose on the spot :embarrassed:

James Bond starting with Sean Connery but I like the Roger Moore series as well.

Early Christopher Walken in Dogs of War.

Apocalypse Now

The Big Lebowski

Most of my choices have been listed, but I must add 2 in the comedy category....

Airplane!
Young Frankenstein

Airplane! is one of my all-tme favorites. Young Frank is already in my queue somewhere.
Caddyshack
Slap Shot
Cool Hand Luke
Seen it, seen it, added.

So many good ones already mentioned.....

LA Confidential - an absolutely juicy Kim Bassinger & multiple deaths by shotgun.

The Searchers - every real guy needs some John Wayne in his diet.

Body Heat - guys really are as dumb as William Hurt. Yeah, we are.

Porky's / Hollywood Knights / Mall Rats - a trifecta of guy comedies. Practice laughing & breathing thru your mouth at the same time.

Mall Rat's is one of my favorite movies ever, so if you list those two up there with it I'll have to check them out.
i need to add one...

The Mechanic

Charles Bronson and Jan Michael Vincent

anyone who hasnt seen it, you'll thank me later!!

Added, and apparently there's a Jason Stetham remake coming out this year.

Smoky and the Bandit.

The movie is utter crap, but it features some of the finest moustachery known to man.

10-4 Burt Reynolds. 10-4.

I'll see your Smokey and the Bandit, and raise you Smokey and the Bandit II, and Stroker Ace.

Ok, for Schwatzy, which to choose ( I haven't seen any of these)..

Commando
Conan the Barbarian
Predator
Total Recal
Oprah Winfrey Show 20th Annaversary (6-disc series)

Skip Commando. I think there is one scene in there where he is shooting so many bad guys that if you pay attention, a couple of them are cardboard cut-outs. Seriously.

Conan, Predator, and Total Recall are all classics though.

OK, so this thread is like 5 years old. Some interesting observations:

1) Drummergirl is actually out of town this weekend too. So it's another guy weekend! What a coincidence. (Sink, here I come. And I gotsta piss!)
2) I've seen a lot of the movies mentioned since then and you guys have great taste.
3) Out of the ones I remember having seen, that I hadn't before, I'd have to say Devil is Dill won the thread with Cool Hand Luke.

So... I guess this means I need to get some beers and watch some guy movies this weekend. What a great bump. (even if it was just to say "the notebook", jerk. We don't take too kindly to folks that like The Notebook round these here parts, fella!)

Too late. I saw commando years back. It's not my favorite "absolutely fucking ridiculous" movie. The part where AHNALD breaks the chain link. I mean, that's probably thousands of pounds of tensile strength needed to do that. Just stupid. And ripping the car seat out!? The epitome of cheese.
