A one-of-a-kind guitar with a limited run of only 1,000, the Epiphone Tommy Thayer Spaceman Les Paul Standard electric guitar features a solid mahogany body and a plain maple veneer top that deliver the classic tone and sustain that can only come from a real Les Paul. Add Gibson 498T Humbuckers, Grover Deluxe Vintage tuners, and a custom silver hard case with a signed certificate of authenticity, and you have a must-have signature Les Paul for 21st Century KISS fans.

The 1960s SlimTaper D profile mahogany neck has a deep-set glued-in neck joint, a 24.75 scale length, 22 medium jumbo frets, and a 1.68 nut. Like all Epiphone Les Pauls (and unlike less costly designs), the Limited Edition Tommy Thayer Spaceman Les Paul Standard Outfit features a 14 degree headstock that gives you more pressure at the nut for more sustain with less tuning hang-ups caused by string-tree gadgets.

A rosewood fingerboard with a 12" radius and pearloid trapezoid inlays completes the classic Les Paul Standard look and feel. The hand-set neck delivers outstanding string-to-body resonance, while the medium-jumbo frets add to the smooth and sustained tone. The top features a beautiful Silver Flake color finish and a black gloss finish on the back, sides, and neck. The body features single-ply white binding on the top and on the fingerboard. A cool black pickguard completes the modern look.

The Power of Homemade Humbuckers
At Tommy Thayer's request, the Limited Edition Tommy Thayer Spaceman Les Paul Standard Outfit features Gibson's world famous Gibson 498T humbuckers, with a covered 498T in the neck position and an open-coil, double black bobbin Gibson 498T humbucker in the lead position for that unmistakable Les Paul sound. Gibson 498T humbuckers have the tonal characteristics of an original PAF, but with a slight increase in upper mid-range response.

The Gibson 498T uses Alnico V magnets for a slightly hotter output with an emphasis on midrange and highs. And like the time-honored originals, Gibson 498T humbuckers use only the highest quality parts including ABS plastic bobbins, 1010 Cold Rolled Steel pole shoes and pole screws, and the finest magnet wire available. Controls include standard black TopHats for volume and tone.

Legendary Epiphone Hardware
The Limited Edition Tommy Thayer Spaceman Les Paul Standard Outfit features Epiphone's legendary rock solid nickel hardware including a Locking Tune-o-matic StopBar fully adjustable bridge, still a classic after 50 years. And now, Epiphone's updated, patent pending design auto-locks the bridge and tailpiece in place with no tools needed for the kind of sustain that Mr. Les Paul always imagined possible.

The Limited Edition Tommy Thayer Spaceman Les Paul Standard Outfit uses 1 diameter potentiometers for better throw, longer life, and reliable service. Epiphone's all-metal 3-way toggle switch uses rugged spring-steel contacts to ensure years of reliable service and performance and Epiphone's proprietary output jack features an improved contact shape and heavy-duty spring steel to increase reliability.

Like all of Epiphone's Les Paul Standards, Tommy's Spaceman includes Grover Deluxe Vintage machine heads with a 14:1 ratio. The classic clipped dovewing headstock features a '60s-style Epiphone in silver and Tommy Thayer on the bell-shaped truss rod cover.

One-of-a-Kind Silver Spaceman Case
The Limited Edition Tommy Thayer Spaceman Les Paul Standard Outfit comes packed with goodies, including a studded leather strap like Tommy's, a custom silver hard case and a signed certificate of authenticity, in a binder with a photo of Tommy Thayer with his very own Limited Edition Tommy Thayer Spaceman Les Paul Standard Outfit.

love the look, though I do wish the pickups were both covered (or not covered, just make 'em match, y'know?)
I'm sure it's far too pricey for what it is.
then again, if it plays well enough to warrant it... (which I doubt)

Tommy Thayer is the Ace Frehley that Ace Frehley should have been.

"A one-of-a-kind guitar with a limited run of only 1,000"

So I guess it's actually a "one-of-1000" not one of a kind. I don't like it, looks cheap to me for some reason.

Wow, never knew that typical Les Paul tone came from a maple veneer top

Street price $699.00 - not too bad. I like the look - but the amount of BS in that ad copy is incredible.

'Legendary Epiphone Hardware' - seriously?? rolleyes1

I never got the 3 humbuckers in a Les Paul thing. Seems like overkill to me.

especially when they were all Dimarzio Super Distortions.

I saw one of these at a local shop, didn't play it but it looked nice enough and the specs are decent. But it'd need matching pickups like Peeker said. But the thing that pisses me off as a long time Kiss fan is them(Simmons/Stanley) trying to pass off Thayer as the Spaceman. It was Ace and only ever will be Ace, and the cat will only ever be Peter Criss. They realised the original characters were what people wanted but they are trying to do it without the original guys.

So this is essentially an standard Epi LP with a different paint job and Gibson HBs for $700 and taxes?!
No thanks. I will grab a used one for $250, mod it and not care about the color. Or just get a Gibson Studio and be done with it.

they sure have employed some creative writers at Gibson  Either that or Gibson really believes in their own bullshit

If someone gave me this guitar, I'd sell it immediately and buy a guitar that I liked. Then I'd probably go get drunk. Actually, I'd do that anyway.
