i have pretty good health insurance at my company, but my "contribution" is still almost $500 per month, for a single person.
most perscriptions have a low co-pay, but like i said, there is a ceiling and when you reach it, you are on the hook for at least half the costs after that.
 
My Federal Gov Blue Cross was around $400/mo out of my retirement check for an individual. When I got on Medicare I converted the Blue Cross to a Medicare Supplement and it still costs me almost $350. But my blood pressure pills are like $3/mo and my expensive Rheumatoid Arthritis med co-pay is $65/mo.
 
That sounds miserable, mojo @wok .

I have very mild symptoms compared to yours; occasionally it pops up on my hands. A topical steroid the Dermatologist prescribed nukes it.
 
Just been to doctor. Turns out that the eczema is inflamed so I need steroids ( both pills and creme) to get rid of the bacterial infection. That explains why I have been feeling ill with it.

the doc got you some antibiotics.....right ?
steroids won't cure an infection.
 
About 2 years ago I started getting some dry patches at a few spots on my skin. I expected the really dry winters here were responsible and it would get better in the summer. It didn't. I finally mentioned it to my doctor at my physical and she sent me to a skin doctor. It was Psoriasis. She prescribed a steroid cream. It was cleared up inside a month. It has stayed away until I noticed a patch a couple weeks ago on my elbow. Luckily I have a lot of the cream left so I'm using that.
 
small update: When picking up my prescriptions, i got talking to the pharmacist. Turns out I have cellulitis (no not cellulite). this explains the red swelling and the slight fevers. I hope the antibiotics will kick in soon, I don't think I can take another night of little sleep and fevered sweating and shivering

Cetaphil is great. Their bars are also great for dry skin conditions because they don’t contain soap so they don’t strip the moisture out of the skin. We started using them 20 years ago when my husband started having psoriasis issues and he hasn’t had an outbreak since.

I'm switching over to tremfya currently. First thing I did was get the copay benefit card from Jansen. Dropped my copay from~$500 to $5.

Oh fuck! I've had that. I had a gash on my shin that got infected, and then it turned into cellulitis. My whole lower leg turned purple and I had horrible shivers and fever, I had to get a course of intravenous antibiotics.

It's really treatable though, so hope you feel better soon!

What antibiotics did they give you? I got some Amoxin when I got bitten by a dog, and they fucked me up completely, stomach issues, sluggish feeling, general fatigue etc. The dog bite left a nasty scar and obviously wasn't pleasant, but the antibiotics messed me up way harder for over a week and it took a month before my stomach was back to normal :messedup: If I ever need antibiotics again I'm going to insist on something else...

And mojo on the skin issues.

2 courses of antibiotics cleared up the infection. Still taking steroid tablets and antihistamines to get the inflammation under control. Looks like I am allergic to something, but nobody knows what it is. So now process of elimination begins
