Frey, Henley, and Azoff informed Felder he was fired, and sent him a check to try to buy out his shares. Felder did not negotiate anything, because he was fired with no warning. Felder then sued for breach of contract, etc, etc, a court case was started, and then dismissed when both parties settled out of court for undisclosed terms. So yeah, Felder apparently agreed to some amount, and maybe kept his shares and maybe not, but that is way different from some people offering to buy you out for an amount they determined after firing you.
If he wasn't happy with the amount he wouldn't have dropped the suit. People fire partners all of the time and make them an offer for their shares. Nothing new there. Of course their initial offer favored the remaining partners, that's just the way of the world. It is really nothing more than a starting point for negotiations.
