Mine is a central American place in the shitty part of town where everything is either stewed or fried, super fresh, slightly spicy, and comes with rice. They have 7 different menus based on the day of the week.

Man I really miss going out to eat. I've had waaaaay more than enough soggy, lukewarm, styrofoam ass takeout.

Mine is a Mexican place in town that has stuff that isn't on the every-other-Mexican-place menu.

If we're talking of all time, the was a place in Ann Arbor twenty years ago that was an Indian takeaway place. Most Indian places are gor-may around here, and I loved the slop-in-cup curries they had.

Mine is an anglo-Indian joint that uses complex spice mixes in everything. Even their rice has 13 spices in it. The smell is incredible; it’s like someone turned up the volume on an Indian grocery store. You can smell it outside. Even the liquor store next door reeks of Indian food. And the food is excellent.

Mine went out of business and the family moved back to Japan. And we live in a good eats desert.

Thats what happened to my fav Chinese place. They must have not got enough take out cause "China Virus", IDK.
They closed shop last April or May. Dunno where they went though.

The crappy Chinese buffet place is still open slopping the unmasked dumbasses, go figure.

I mostly live in a fast food/chain restaurant hell but I had my favorite places, from dives, chains, to family operations depending on the food.
Hope I can return to them soon.

Mine is the Dhaba Indian Bistro in Middleton just outside Madison. Everyone says it's the best Indian place in Madison (even though it's not actually in Madison). I tried their food at Taste Of Madison and loved it. It's the only sit down place you can get me to go to. The place is in a strip mall, but has crystal glasses, table clothes, and cloth napkins. The food is great and comes in multiple heat levels. I always go with one because the spices are such a great flavor combination I don't want to cover them up with peppers. Food is served in metal bowls and you can share if you want. Just scoop whatever you want on to your china dinner plate. Rice is in a community bowl and if you run out they refill it free. I always get a Lassi to drink and they are SO good. Lunch portions are slightly smaller than dinner and cheaper. Lunch is about $10, dinner $14-18 depending on what you order. I am so full when I leave there I usually don't eat for at least 24 hours. If you pay cash they give you a discount. It's 40 or so miles from my house so we don't go often but usually the waiter recognizes us . It's one of those family owned businesses were the owner works 6 days a week open to close. In case you haven't figured it out yet, I love this place and so far they're surviving Covid.

Nice Indian place in town does modern takes on the cuisine so it's not just curries.

We went with some friends in between lockdown so it's the last place I've eaten out.

The head chef has a YT channel and I've made a bunch of his stuff over the past year. Really helped up my curry game.

Mine’s a french bistro style restaurant, owned by some frenchies. They have confite de canard and alsacian tarte flambe’, but no alsace wine. If you ask why, they become upset and argue in French that their Loire sauvignon Blanc, that they buy directly from the wine growers, is soooo much better. Don’t come here and argue, we’re frenchies, you’re not. Later, when you pay, the price for the wine suddenly is just 50% of what is said on the list. When you complain about that, they argue that it was ”half-glasses”. They’re hopeless.

Mine is an Indian restaurant in Sherman TX.
The waitress has recommended a new dish for my almost ever time I go in there.
Everything has been great. Flavorful, spiced as hot or mild as I want.
The staff are so nice, and friendly.
The 2 British from work I hang with gave it a thumbs up.

I'm gonna miss that place when I move in 3 weeks.

Mine is a local chain of Mexican restaurants in Charlottesville. Each one’s food is a little bit different and my favorite is in an old house they turned into a restaurant. When I lived in Charlottesville, it went there so much, I didn’t even have to order when I went in for lunch. They’d bring me my drink as I sat down and would ask if I wanted and extra taco or enchilada that day

Hard to say. I guess there are two favorites, depending on my mood.

My favorite Indian restaurant is in Amherst, so you get that college town vibe. The food is great and they will make things mild enough for Carol's digestive issues and spicy enough for me. We are (at least up until the pandemic) regulars to the point that they sometimes give us free pakora appetizers and greet us warmly. The décor is a bit more on the funky side with Indian flare and the clientele can be interesting.

My other favorite is just over the state line in Connecticut and is a combination restaurant and used book store. You get to choose three free books with your meal and they usually have quite a variety. In the basement they sell pricier used books, though most are still reasonable. It is also a favorite of a couple we know from church and we meet them for dinner there at times. They have several good vegetarian options on the menu. They also have (very tall, bear-proof) bird feeders to the side of the building and we can usually get a table where you can watch the birds and the squirrels.

I last went to a restaurant about 2 years ago on a date. The restaurant doesn't exist anymore since covid. the date also never went anywhere.

Make of that what you want

Favorite steak: Does Eat Place.
Have eaten at the original Does Eat Place in Greenville MS a couple of times on the way home from out west.
The steaks are monstrous and delicious. The Tamales are excellent as well.
In the last few years they've franchised out to a dozen or so places around the south. I have one about 30 miles away. Not as funky as the original place experience (see history page on link) but still the best steak around here.

I don't know that I have a favorite anymore. I sometimes go to a dive bar in my town that has fantastic smoked wings and a great selection of beer. I've been going there so long that I'm a regular.

My fave place, and only place I do dine-in since the pandemic, is local Central American restaurant, Los Jarritos. Reasonable selection, good prices, and they will add ingredients at your request.

In San Jose. We've been going there for over 20 years. Andu, the owner, treats you like family. Gave our daughter a bottle of tej when she got one of her degrees. Ethiopian food is the bomb - I've been using teff in a lot of my baked goods lately.
