Delbert McClinton's biggest mainstream pop hit was "Giving It Up for Your Love," reaching #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1981, while his biggest country chart success was the duet "Tell Me About It" with Tanya Tucker, which hit #4 in 1992, also earning him a Grammy with Bonnie Raitt for "Good Man, Good Woman".

The record label I used to work for put out the Delbert McClinton “Live From Austin” record. One of the first things I did after I got promoted from the warehouse to “The Big House” was sit in on a meeting with Delbert, his manager and other staffers. Delbert was the real deal.
