Another build from this past week This one has a scallop neck on it.

I'd like it better with aged cream covers and knobs, but I like the body and YJM approved fret board. :baimun:
 
I agree about the aged knows and pickup covers, and I would love to get my hands on a scalloped fretboard, just to see how it feels. I don't think I've ever seen one in my area.
 
Just wondering, how much do you charge for these relics, and do you do them yourself? Paint then relic, or just relic on a prepainted body?

Most of the bodies I pick up are unfinished and I paint them and and ruin a perfectly good paint job.

This one was an ebay find from some guy in the Carolinas. I really liked what he did with the body and the price was right.
 
that strat looks amazing! i've never played a scalloped neck so i don't know anything about them...but that guitar is hawt!

As we all know, neither Ritchie nor Yngwie invented scalloping or particularly refined it. Ritchie did his and Yngwie copied Ritchie in almost every way (allow he's loathe to admit this obviousness). The guitar is clearly built to look like Ritchie's strat is all I was saying...AND Yngwie can eat a bag of dicks. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
 
Oh, I absolutely agree with you -- my first impression of it was "Blackmore Strat!" :thu:

Frankly, I've never had the opportunity to try a guitar with a Blackmore scallop. I'd love to give it a whirl. I have a Tele with a scalloped neck, although I suspect the Blackmore scallop would be slightly more comfortable.
